Associate Member Day 2018


On 17 September 2018, the Platform for Better Oral Health in Europe hosted its annual Associate Member Day in Brussels.

This meeting was the occasion for the Platform’s Board Members to provide an update on the work accomplished over the past year, and to present the strategy for the Platform for 2019. In 2019, the Platform will continue building on the achievements made over the past two years, by focusing on the following two workstreams:

  • Inclusion of oral health indicators and data in future EU publications;
  • Develop a repository for best practices in oral health.

Associate Members offered valuable insights and contributions that will help move the activities of the Platform forward in the coming months. We look forward to continuing our close collaboration in 2019.

Associate Members also had the opportunity to listen to two keynote presentations by Professors Helen Whelton and David Williams. Prof. Whelton shared insights on securing EU research funding for oral health, while Prof. Williams introduced the FDI-ICHOM Adult Oral Health Dataset, and how the possible application of this data could improve oral health and oral health outcomes.
