On 19 October, European Commissioner for Health and Food Safety Vytenis Andriukaitis confirmed, during a speech in front of Romanian Parliamentary Committees in Bucharest, that the European Commission will publish profiles on the state of health across EU individual countries.

The Platform for Better Oral Health in Europe welcomes this announcement, as those country-specific reports, that are follow-ups to the EU Health at a Glance report, will help build cross-country knowledge, and help governments make informed choices for their public health policies.

The Platform would like to reiterate the need to link good oral health with good general health, and hopes that oral health will be referenced in the upcoming country reports.
