During the second quarter of 2017, the Platform focussed on advancing its work on its two key goals; met with DG SANTE officials; and agreed on Joint Actions to possibly participate in in the coming months.

As such, in July, the Platform pursued its discussions with DG SANTE’s Health Determinants and Inequalites team. The key focus of the discussions was the upcoming Joint Action on Inequalities which is due to begin in the first quarter of 2018. Following that call, the Platform has been in talks with the European Commission to become involved in the work of the Joint Action.

In September, the Platform had a call with DG SANTE’s Country Knowledge team. The discussions revolved around the future Joint Action in Health Information, which should start in early 2018. The Platform expressed strong interest in participating in this Joint Action, as this links strongly with the work it has been conducting on oral health indicators.

The Platform’s members also met twice, in July and September.
