What we do
The Platform for Better Oral Health in Europe is committed to advancing oral health and advocating for the prevention of oral diseases across Europe.
Our mission is to tackle the significant socio-economic impact of oral diseases by promoting policies that integrate oral health into broader health and policy agendas.
Our Manifesto presents a vision for a healthier life through better oral health, urging policymakers to include oral conditions in their NCD strategies and ensure equitable access to preventive care. By fostering collaboration among stakeholders and contributing to health policymaking through European institutions, the Platform strives to enhance the quality of life and well-being for all Europeans.
Beyond EU policy and legislation, we also engage with the World Health Organization (WHO) on global initiatives to elevate oral health. In 2021, we provided feedback during the WHO’s consultation on the Draft Global Strategy on Oral Health, recognizing the global significance of major oral diseases. In 2022, we shared our priorities and recommendations in response to the WHO’s Draft Global Action Plan on Oral Health, emphasizing the key actions needed for a successful Global Strategy on Oral Health by 2030.
