A fresh look for a new era: Introducing the Platform’s new website

As we enter an exciting new phase for health policy in Europe and globally, we are delighted to unveil a refreshed online home for the Platform for Better Oral Health in Europe.

Our new website launches at a time of growing momentum around health – especially non-communicable diseases (NCDs) – with renewed political commitment and major policy initiatives taking shape. This positive shift provides a strong foundation to further elevate oral health on the European and global stage.

Why now?

With the beginning of a new institutional cycle in the EU and increasing global recognition of the importance of strong, prevention-focused health systems, now is the perfect moment to build on the significant progress made over the past years.

Since its inception in 2010, the Platform has championed oral health as a key pillar of overall health and wellbeing. Fifteen years on, we’re proud of the strides taken – from shaping EU-level policy discussions to supporting oral health’s inclusion among the top priorities at the upcoming World Health Assembly and the UN High-Level Meeting on NCDs in September, alongside cardiovascular disease, diabetes, and respiratory diseases.

Our redesigned website reflects this evolution. It offers a cleaner, more intuitive experience with easier access to the latest policy developments, advocacy tools, and updates on our work across Europe.

Oral health: a success story in progress

Thanks to persistent advocacy and collaboration, oral health is increasingly recognised as essential to preventing a wide range of NCDs and improving quality of life. Building on this recognition, our Platform continues to work alongside policymakers, civil society, and healthcare actors to ensure these efforts translate into lasting, meaningful change.

We’ve come a long way – but there’s more to do. That’s why we’re calling on policymakers to embed oral health firmly within NCD strategies and ensure equitable access to preventive care for all citizens.

Looking ahead

2025 is shaping up to be a defining year for health policy, with critical EU initiatives on NCDs, prevention, and pharmaceutical legislation expected. The Platform will remain actively engaged, bringing the voice of the oral health community into these key conversations.

We are also preparing for major international milestones – including the upcoming World Health Assembly and UN High-Level Meeting – to continue strengthening oral health’s position in the broader health agenda.

Join us on this journey

Our new website is more than just a digital refresh – it’s a hub for collaboration, information, and action. We invite you to explore it and stay engaged with us as we build on our achievements and continue advocating for better oral health for all.

Together, let’s ensure that oral health secures its rightful place at the heart of health policy in Europe and beyond.
