Cochrane Oral Health is the newest Associate Member of the Platform for Better Oral Health in Europe.

For more than 20 years, Cochrane Oral Health has led the way in evidence-based oral health care, producing gold-standard systematic reviews of dental preventive interventions and treatments. These reviews synthesise and appraise primary research studies in order to summarise the state of the evidence, and are kept up-to-date through regular database searches for new studies, which are then incorporated into the reviews. During 2020, Cochrane Oral Health finalised a thorough prioritisation process to identify the key priority topics for reviews.

Cochrane Oral Health’s activities are coordinated and supported by the Editorial Base Team located at the Division of Dentistry, The University of Manchester, United Kingdom. They also with a large number of international dental organisations and have recently initiated a ‘Global Evidence Ecosystem for Oral Health’ (GEEOH) in partnership with groups such as the International Association for Dental Research (IADR), World Dental Federation (FDI), American Dental Association (ADA), the World Health Organization (WHO) and the Scottish Dental Clinical Effectiveness Programme (SDCEP), to try to improve the connections between initial studies, evidence synthesis, guideline production and real-world implementation.
